It's A Girl
I got to go to a baby shower yesterday. It was for the son and daughter- in- law of one of my friends. Since she is having a little girl, everyone had brought her all these little cute outfits, dresses, little socks. And the cutest little pink bunny hat that will be perfect for Easter. Robyn and I was talking about all these new gadgets that are available for new mothers now days. When I had my first born, pampers had just been put on the market, and they were considered a luxury item. Below is pics of the card and little gift I gave to her. Guess what the baby's name is going to be? It' Emily. You gals that read my blog regularly know why that name is so special to me. To any new visitors, please click on the link on the right side bar "In Memory"
Now to the pictures. Here is the baby shower card's front.

This is a little 8x8 album that the expectant Mother can scrap after the baby gets here. I added the stickers on the front, put the baby's name on it and added some extra colored ribbon to the plain basic ribbon that ties it shut. I also added the name Emily's origin on the first page of the album.

I used this pretty little pink gingham lined basket to put everything in. I then put it down in one of those cellophane bags and finished it off with a big pink tulle bow. I also added some pretty "smelling" toiletries in the basket for the Mother-To-Be.
I am trying to use up a lot of my "scrap" papers, leftover from other projects, so I do not have the names of any of the papers. Thanks for letting me share.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR PAT, HOW OLD ARE YOU :) DEAR PAT, HOW OLD ARE YOU?
Yes it is Pat's Birthday today. I wonder if she will tell us how old she is? Everyone hop over to her blog and wish her a wonderful day. Since we are talking about hopping around, you need to check her blog out to see what she has "hopping" around over there.
Here is the card, I made for her, that I DID NOT get in the mail in time for it to be delivered today, but what the heck, I just sent off her Christmas package yesterday. And that's the truth! I can't even remember what is in the box. It has been taped up and ready to mail for over 2 months now. Well I might remember one thing that is in it. Homemade candy, yep it should really be good by now. It is that kind that gets better with age. *wink* Talking about age. How old did you say you were Pat:) I sure am glad she can take teasing.

Pam Bassett at Indigo Studios inspired this card. You need to check her site out, she is amazing. I didn't have that many cupcake stamps, so I Googled "cupcake clip art" and found two or three different ones, then I just printed them in different sizes. I used MS glitter pens to color the most of the parts of the cupcakes, and used Sharpies on the rest. I cut them out and arranged according to size. I added a little cupcake to the center of my ribbon poof. For the base I used purple card stock ( Pat's Challenge, this week) then the next layer is aqua glitter paper, then pink glitter paper. The layer the cupcakes are on is a vellum type paper with glittered mingled colors, that are the same as the colors of the cupcakes. Sorry about the terrible picture. Thanks for letting me share.

More Birthdays

I also want to thank everyone that sent me Birthday wishes, last week. The comments on my blog, the emails, the handmade cards, the store bought cards and the telephone calls. All these things combined made it such a special day for me.
I got to use some of the card stock that one sister gave me and use the MS Zigzag punch that the other sister gave me on this card. Aren't I the lucky one.

Birthday time

This card I will also use for Pat's Saturday night challenge. The challenge was to use some embossing. I used Gold Ultra thick Embossing Enamel on the initial S. and attached it to the card with a little brad. The denim paper is by Me and My Big Ideals. I used the Cricut to cut out the 39, and used 3-D dots to attach it to the brown paper that had planes, trucks and ball caps on it. It did not have a name on the back of it. Thanks for letting me share.

Pat's Challenge

MIA
Yes it seems like I have been MIA for awhile now. It has been a hard couple of weeks. My Mother in Law, who was my mentor and friend for 41 years, passed away on January 28th. She spent several days at Hospice. It was such a shock, she was diagnosed with cancer on Monday and died on Saturday. After her death I have felt so very lost, and had no desire to be creative. Then this past Sunday I got a call from my sister and they were taking my Mom to hospital. She had a virus and had become dehydrated. She is 86 and has other medical problems also. She is home, but not recovering as fast as my sisters and I would like. In the mean time, the "bug" bit me, so I have been trying to Lysol every thing down, to keep the others in my household from getting this nasty stomach virus. Hopefully I will feel like working on a quick card or LO for Pat's challenge tonight . I also have Valentine bags to make. Now I see why all of you start months ahead on holidays, so you won't be caught empty handed if an emergency arises.
Please keep my Mother and my Mother in Law's family in your prayers.
Thanks
