Getting Ready

In a couple of weeks, I am hosting a baby shower for my Granddaughter.  In October she will be adding a little girl to her family.  You that follow me, know that she has a little boy, named Wyatt. Wyatt will be 17 months old when his little sister is born.  I think this makes her a perfect little family.
Here are a couple of things I have made for the shower, and if course I had to make a little card.  I have been working on the baby blanket for awhile. I just have to finish the border on one side and I will be finished.  We are using, pink, peach and purple as the color scheme.  I think they look so pretty together.  Still have some favors, decorations and food to plan. But I enjoy doing these things for Amber and Matt so very much.

As always thanks for stopping by.

IT'S HOT

But then I know most of the country is now suffering under a heat wave.  Guess that means it is a good time to stay inside and play with all the pretty papers and stuff. But, I haven't been able to get a lot done, because the garden is calling my name now.  Pat at One Little Spark the Shop has came up with the perfect solution for me, since I haven't had enough time to be creative on my on.  She has a Kit of The Month, that allows me to paste and glue and stuff without it taking too much time, but still I get the joy of creating.  Here is what July's kit was all about. A pretty little mermaid for me to color and then assemble easily with everything I need to make this cute little card. I didn't have to go hunting for dimensionals or string or scissors or anything. It was all included. The card and paper already cut to size and stamped.  It made it so easy for me to get a card out to a friend that needed to be put in the mail this morning.  Now to go make me a tomato sandwich with fresh tomatoes out of my garden.  Yum Yum.

2 Months

It has been 2 months since posting, a lot of birthdays, and celebrations have occurred.  My beautiful sweet mother celebrated her 90th birthday in June.  My husband celebrated his 70th, my little great-grandson celebrated his 1st.  A lot of milestones this year.

My friend, Pat, at One Little Spark The Shop, is now carrying Becky Higgins, Project Life products.  I chose the "Baby Edition for Him".  I just love the little coordinating cards and papers included in this set. I wanted to chronicle little Wyatt's 1st Year.  I stayed up last night till 2 playing with all the pretty little papers, and picking out and printing my favorite pictures to use.  I did not realize it was that late, I was having such a good time.  This old body feels it this morning though.  I hope that Little Wyatt someday will enjoy sitting down with me and going through this album page by page, and me filling in all the answers to his questions about when he was "little".  I thought that for him that I should start at the beginning, sharing pictures of his Mother (my granddaughter) and her Husband and their wedding day.  The first page includes a picture of his mother and father's engagement and then their wedding day.  The second page has a picture of their first sonogram and his mother near the end of her pregnancy.  For this post I covered part of the picture with a post it note for privacy reasons.  I'm sure you all understand.  Pat can fix you up with one of these, she ships anywhere inside the continental US.

sorry about the bad pictures, we have had rain for 8 days and the lighting is really bad.
Here is a picture of Wyatt on his first birthday, I couldn't do a post without sharing one of him :)
Thanks for visiting today.

Rain Rain Go Away

I know about July, I will be singing a different song, but it has rained for so very long, with lots of  flooding, but not as bad as in other parts of the country, so I shouldn't complain.  Our temps have even been below average for the beginning of this spring. It has been so wet, I can't even get my vegetable garden planted.
I thought that I would just share with you tonight the Mother's Day card I finished for my Mother. I am so blessed to still have her in my life.  She will be 90 in June of this year.  Here is a picture of her and her great great-grandson when he was born in May of 2012. It is so hard to believe he will be 1 year old next week. There are 5 generations represented in this picture.

Here is the card I made for her.  The graphic came from Free Pretty Things For You.  I downloaded it, printed it out twice and trimmed around the roses on one of the prints, added them to the image with dimensionals, added Mama and added little pearls. The picture isn't the best quality but, as always thanks for visiting.

New Little One

Tomorrow, my granddaughter and myself are going to a baby shower for my niece.
I needed to make a card, so I selected papers from Echo Park called "Bundle of Joy.
I got this cute little 6x6 collection from Pat at her shop, One Little Spark.  The shower invitation
had a sailboat on it and told us that it was going to be a Precious Little Boy.  Here is the little card I came up with.  I hope the mother-to-be likes it as much as I enjoyed making it for her.  The little pad of papers that I used made it so east to coordinate everything.  Thanks, Pat for shipping these to me all the way down in NC.   I saw a similar card to this online somewhere and can't remember who had posted it. Sorry to whoever it was.

And while we are talking about precious little boys, here is a recent picture of my great-grandson
he is 11 months old now, and the love of my life. (Along with the grand-daughters).

You Make Me Smile

There are so many many things that make me smile, some to the point of tears.  I am very blessed with wonderful friends and family.

One of the things that make me smile is when my Kit of the Month arrives from One Little Spark-the-Shop.  April's card is so simple and clean. That is one thing I love on cards. Pat made this card so easy, which I need as sometimes I haven't the time to stamp my own.  It takes a lot of time to go through all the stamps and papers. Pat does all that for me.  I have a friend who is very special to me, and she will be receiving this card for no reason at all except she makes me smile.  I took the picture outside on the deck today, because it made me smile that it was warm enough to do so today, after a day yesterday of snow, sleet, and rain.

If you would like to join Pat's Kit of the Month club, just contact her at One Little Spark-the-Shop. Pat will fix you right up. She mails and ships anywhere inside the Continental US.

Thanks for visiting today, and I am trying to do better on my posting. Thank you friends for asking me to continue.

Can you believe it has been 10 months since I posted.  In my last post. I posted a picture of my new great grandson, well he is now 10 months old. He has grown way too fast, already crawling, and pulling up and standing alone.  Where has the time gone.  Here he is with the little peep, that will go in his Easter Basket next Sunday.  It really cheeps.

My friend, Pat at Southern Breezes and also at One Little Spark the Shop, has made it easier to get back in the swing of things.  She is now offering a kit of the month.  The first one is this cute little Easter treat box.  Of course I had to do something for the little one's first Easter. So here is a picture of what I did to the little box in this month's kit.  Again thank you Pat.

She also cuts other little boxes and has them for sale. Oh and she ships anywhere even to the foothills of NC.  Here is what I did with a few of them, for my family on Easter day, since I am hosting the dinner this year.  Every holiday I try to do treats for my 7 year old granddaughter's school party.  This is a pic of what I came up with for that.  It is Easter trail mix, with edible grass, pretzels, sixlets, jelly beans, etc.  Thanks for visiting and I hope to start posting regularly again.

Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

It has been awhile since I have posted and something exciting has happened in our family.  My Granddaughter and her husband Matt presented us with a little baby boy. His name is Wyatt. He is 4 weeks old now. Of course I need to brag and post a few pictures of my Great-Grandson.  This is a picture of him and my mother.  5 generations are represented in this picture.  I am so blessed to have both of them in my life.   And isn't he such a cutie.  There is n 89 year life span represented in this photo.

And here is where the puppy dog tails fit in.  I thought I would crochet him a little puppy dog hat for this winter.  Do you think he will grow into it by then.  Let's hope so.

Day 3 of the Glitter Games

It is Day 3 of Pats Glitter Games.  PK Glitz is coming to hold classes next week.  So here is my entry into day 3 challenge.  We were to use embossing on a project.
I sometimes try my hand at jewelry making.

I had these leaf skeletons and they were in a bright silver color.  Sorry about the bad picture

I wanted to change the color so I embossed them using Not so Rusted Penny color.  Then I added a little butter fly bead. Added my earring hook to it and it was finished. I liked the outcome so I had a solid silver leaf and decided to change it also.  I used Bronze Patina on it and added a little feather.
I mentioned in an earlier post about a memorial bake & craft fund raiser we are having later in Scott's memory, so I will add this to the others that I am making for the sale.  I thought it would be a neat little way to gift the earrings  if  I would make a card for them to go on.  The front of the card has an leaf skeleton embossed on it with the little butterfly added.  On the inside of the card, the earrings are displayed.

Thanks Pat for letting me play along in the Glitter Games.

A BRIDAL SHOWER

Last weekend was the bridal shower for my niece Ashley. Here she is as she came into the fellowship hall.

Pat at One Little Spark, cut out the favors for me.( She has all kinds of favor boxes and invite ideals)

This is the invitation Pat helped me design, she ordered just the right paper. Tiffany Blue. Also in the picture is the little wrist corsage I made for Ashley.
Here Ashley is opening up lots of wonderful gifts.  Seated beside her is my oldest niece Nancy, helping her keep a record of the gifts.
I have lots of wonderful nieces. This one is Deanna helping me decorate a mirror for the shower. ( no that is not gray hair you see on me *wink*)
And this niece is Jennifer, what an inspiration she is to all of us.  Since Jan. 24, 2012 she has lost 168 lbs. She deserves a lot of compliments on reaching her goal.

A banner I made using pictures of the soon to be married couple.
The fellowship hall half decorated, we forgot to take pictures of the finished product.
Everyone was asked to bring a bulb, or pkg of seeds so she could start a flower garden at her new home.
I know it is a long post, but I hope you enjoyed looking.

PK Glitz Challenge

Pat at One Little Spark is having a PK Glitz challenge. I always love her challenges.  Here is my glittered Birthday Card for the challenge.  Go visit her and enter too. Jim and Janelle from PK Glitz is visiting One Little Spark on April 12. If you live in the area, you can sign up for fun sounding classes.

4 YEARS

Yesterday was the 4th birthday of my blog. A lot of changes have happened in 4 years. Some sad but also some very good things have occured. I told you earlier that I was going to soon be a great grandmother, so I have been working on a few things for her shower. Here are some baby blocks I made using the colors that she has selected for the baby's room. Also, I couldn't celebrate a birthday without an update on Flossie Mae. Also a picture of my Spring basket outside my door.

Babies

I may have already mentioned this

but in May I am going to be a Great Grandmother .

I know that has to be hard for all of you to believe since I am only 39 years old. *wink*.

My Granddaughter is using Simba as the theme for her little boys room. Martha Stewart had this ideal on her site. Thanks for visiting.

Spring

I know it is just the middle of January, but I am so looking forward to Spring time. Lots of exciting things are happening.

My granddaughter is having a little boy the last of May and my niece is getting married May 12. I am going to be involved in giving a bridal shower and a baby shower. My dear friend, Pat, at One Little Spark, is helping me design the invites for both showers. She takes orders for the invites and favors and makes them for you, or you can buy all the supplies from her to put them together yourself. One Little Spark takes phone and email orders and ships anywhere within the continental United States, so you need to visit Pat with your invitation and favor needs.. My dear friend Debbie has offered to have a fundraiser in my son, Scott's memory, also this Spring. We will be raising money for a local charity. I was blog hopping trying to get ideals of something that I could make and contribute to the craft sale when I came across Kolleen's, Design By Night. You will be inspired by all the creative things she makes. She has a lot of free tutorials. Please go visit her and leave her a comment. She inspired me to make my own little earrings for the craft sale. Thanks for visiting.

A Red NOSE

A red Nose, no I don't have a cold or allergies.

It isn't I that has a red nose. It's Rudolph. Remember last month I made little Pilgrims for Natalie to take to her Kindergarten class, so for the Christmas party this month I made Reindeer Noses. I included a red one for Rudolph. I saw different variations of this on different blogs, so I really don't know who to give credit to for the ideal. Anyway, I am a winner in little Natalie's heart. Thanks for letting me share this morning.

HOW MANY PILGRIMS WILL FIT IN THE BUCKET

The answer..... Just enough for Nat's K-1 class. I made these for her to take to her class next week to hand out as a Thanksgiving treat. I found the template for these little cuties at http://lauriefurnell.blogspot.com/p/freebies.html

Laurie has other freebies that are also adorable. Please go visit with her. You will stay awhile if you do. The template is sized for the large regular size Hershey Bars. I scaled it down to fit a little .49 oz size bar. I think the teachers will thank me for that. ;) On the back I put a little sticker on it with Nat's name on it. In the picture I noticed I had some trimming to do, but you get the ideal of how cute they are. Well at least I think so. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. It in a beautiful fall day in the NC foothills. Thanks for visiting.

Where has the time gone?

I know it has been about 10 weeks since I posted. I have been busy, and busy with creative things, but my camera isn't cooperating like it should, so when I would want to post, I would get discouraged with the picture. So I would just walk away. But I have some exciting news I would love to share. I guess you can tell by the picture, that someone is going to have a baby. And of course you all know it isn't me. I have crocheted these little wash cloths for the little one. Don't know whether it is a boy or girl, so have to use the variegated colors till next month. I have printed so many crochet patterns off the Internet in the last week, and have hopes of doing all these little special items. I am going to be a Great-grandmother! And you are right, I'm not old enough to be a Great-grandmother. But really I am that old. My Grand-daughter Amber that got married back in the summer, shared this great news with us. She is due early summer. Anyone that really knows me, knows that I am ecstatic about this. I am like a child, I have no patience. I want it here now!!!. But then I wouldn't have time to make all my little projects would I? You can see a picture of Amber in the post before this one. As beautiful as she is, the baby has to be something special. But then that is the grandmother in me talking. *wink*

6 Days and counting

On August 27th, my beautiful granddaughter will marry. Happy tears flow even as I write this. It will be an outdoor wedding, and we are hoping for lovely weather. Amber is the daughter of my son Scott who passed away. My husband and her mother's father have the honor of giving her away. Since we have 5 sons, my husband never thought he would have an opportunity to give away a bride, so he is so very proud that she asked him. The pictures include a couple of her engagement pictures, shower pictures and some of the things we are making for the wedding. Enjoy
