Duh

Duh is what everyone is going to say when they open my blog this morning. They will say what was she thinking. Well fact is she wasn't. I have absolutely nothing to show, or no interestiing facts to tell. There was no creative juices flowing through my veins last night. Maybe I can get back on track tonight. Everyone have a good Thursday, open the windows, let the fresh air blow through. Yeah my husband says that is the thing to do let the pollen swirl through the house and then complain about allergies. Take care.

Wednesday and counting down till Friday afternoon

I know I am wishing my life away, but I enjoy being off so much.

My sister is celebrating her 40th Wedding Anniversary, the last of July. My other sister, Valda who was in yesterday's LO, and I are doing the reception and decorating. While doing those tins, we discussed several recipes and ideals, but me being the absent minded person I have become have already forgotten what we said. I covered this composition book, to use in planning this celebration. I will write down all the info, and ideals that come along. I will include the recipes for the food we will serve and the sketches we make of table arrangements and things like that. Then afterwards, I will give it to my sister to put with all her other momentos of the day. Pat (my angel sent friend) is helping from a distance. She is making the favors for us. Can you believe how great this special friend is that I have ? Where I covered the inside of the front and back, of the notebook, I made a pocket to hold receipts and miscellaneous things. But I forgot to take picture of that. On the front, I used a rub on that says, "forever and for always" It is hardly legible, but that is the effect I wanted. I also attached a ribbon on it, to keep it shut. It is getting past my bedtime, and have caught myself nodding off several times while composing this. Please excuse any typos. *wink*wink*

Whew

I just barely got Pat's Saturday Night Challenge completed by the dead line. My mother had to have a stress test yesterday. It was a good thing it wasn't me, I would have failed it over this challenge. But once I got into it, it was fun. The story that I was trying to tell is one of my sister, Valda, and myself and the scrapping fun we had on Saturday. She arrived at my house about 2:00 PM, and after we were on the road for1 1/2 hours looking for papers and stuff, we finally got started. She wanted to make 32 altered mint tins. We were making them into little first aid kits. We had to empty all the tins, and decided to run the tins through the dishwasher to get the mint smell out. She is in charge of her Missionary group's May meeting. On the inside top of each tin, she will put the name of the missionary that each member is to pray for that month. Each tin is different and each has a members initial on it. We finished about 9:30 PM. We did stop to eat our dinner though. We love to scrap, but we love to eat even more. Thanks, Valda, for the fun time, and Pat, thanks for the challenge.

Happy Birthday, Amber & Heather's Challenge

May 3rd was my grand-daughter's 19th birthday (When did I get old enough to have a grand-daughter that age) We celebrated Sunday evening, cause she had to work on Sunday. This is a pic of my DH and her, at my son's home. She is the apple of my husband's eye, that is for sure. We didn't have any girls, just 5 boys, so this first one is a special young lady. Heather's Friday night challenge was a card using brads. This is Amber's birthday card, (She must own a zillion pairs of flipflops). The little flowers on the top of the flip flops are brads. Thanks for looking.

Remember

Remember that bad bad Easter Bunny that came to see me and made a wonderful meal off my lettuce? Well I don't know what has happened to him, but he has developed a disliking to my lettuce.I took this picture yesterday. I made a salad for dinner last night. It is so mild, and tender. We do need more rain though. I hope you perfectionist didn't notice the weeds. I'll will tend to those on Monday after work. My sister visited all day yesterday, so I will get to the challenges maybe today.

Organizing Cards

Pat and I were talking the other day about organizing. She prompted me to think about a solution to how we could keep up with our cards, that we have made, so we would know what we had. I had ran into the Dollar General to pick up some paper products and as I walked by the stationary aisle I saw this photo album that had sleeves for 100, 4 x 6's. I put some flocked dots on the flowers and stuck the word "cards" on it. I stuck some circle stickers in coordinating colors on the inside covers also. This is a very elementary project, but it works. :) It will serve it's purpose till we find a better solution. I picked up 3 of these, so I think I will put different categories in each of them. Birthdays, holidays, etc. I think they will also look pretty siting on my bookshelf. My sister is coming to visit today, we will be making 25 altered mint tins, for her to give the ladies in her church group. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend. Till Tomorrow, and Pat's and Heather's challenges are completed.

Good Morning

Sorry I didn't get anything up yesterday, My mother has been ill for the last couple of days, but is doing much better now. While at the hospital with my mother last night, my cousin came in to visit my mom (her aunt). We don't get to see each other very much, so it was really good to visit. Awhile back I posted some pictures of a scrap page that had some fall foliage pictures. These were taken at her beautiful home, in the Mountains of NC. Here is a link to their web page, The Golden Cockerel. They have the most unique shop to visit. While looking at their "wares" also make sure and click on the links to their summer rental. Above are some more pictures taken at their home. Hope you enjoy these. I am looking forward to Heather's and Pat's challenges this weekend. I need to really mess up my clean desk ;)
