Short and Sweet

Short and Sweet, well I'm afraid that isn't the case. I have all week at 365 cards to post. I will start with day last Sunday's challenge and bring up to today's challenge

Sunday was the super sketch:

Monday's was to find some fabric in your home or somewhere that inspired a card.

Tuesday's was to use a ribbon, pearl and a Tag on a card.

Wednesday's was to use red, purple & brown

Thursday's was to use paisley

Friday was to use 5 stamps

Saturday's was to use some twine.

2 Challenges

I am showing you a card, that I had so much pleasure to do. First of all Robyn brought me to the attention of this new challenge blog. Thank you, Robyn for the invitation to join you this week in this new challenge, also making it possible for me to have a stamp to use for the challenge and last but most important Thank you for our new found Friendship. The link Robyn directed me to is Stampin' Sisters in Christ. There challenge this week was : to make a card or project featuring the nativity or other religious theme about Christ's birth. This card also qualifies (I think) for 365 Cards, Day 237 which was to do 5 of something.
The stamp used both on the inside and outside of the card is by Inkadinkado. I used 5 (365 cards challenge) different layers alternating with different patterns of black and white. I also layered each layer with the foam dimensional dots. The stamp of Mother and Child is the religious theme about Christ's Birth. I finished it off with a few pearls both on the inside and outside. Thanks for looking and taking a minute to think about what Christmas is really all about. Ok after I finished all this, it was brought to my attention, that I didnt pay attention *wink* This does not qualify for the 365, I was suppose to use five stamps. Blame it on my age. :) Thanks Robyn for catching me trying to cheat. ;)

Witchie Poo

Well here I am chasing the deadline time for Pat's challenge. Seems like there wasn't much creativity flowing through my head this week. Maybe the thoughts of the cold weather. This week at Southern Breezes, Pat challenged us to make a treat holder. This one will be for Amber my oldest granddaughter. She used to work all day in heels a lot higher then this. I did the same thing when I was young, boy am I paying for it now. Back years and years ago, to work in the offices, you had to wear suits and heels and the such. I don't see how I got any work done at all, when I was uncomfortable. Okay I am rambling so back to the challenge. This little witches shoe template is by Ellen Hutson. she was so nice to share it with all of us. Thanks for sharing some of your time with me today.

WISH UPON A SHOOTING STAR

Just wondered how many of you were as crazy as me to stand out in the 37 degree cold this morning just to get a glimpse of the Orionid Meteor Shower. Oh yeah by the way, My hair was still wet from the shower. I think there is a name for people like me. But we won't go there. *wink*

Remember

Do you remember this picture I posted awhile back

And then this one on Saturday

Well Pam my childhood school mate, that I recently reconnected with had this to say about Flossie?

"Is Flossie in the in or out box"
I thought that was so cute and original. and to answer her question, I guess I would have to say, it's where ever she wants to me. See, she rules this house. She owns me, I don't own her. she is sitting here reading this as I tye, reminding me of that fact. Thanks Pam for the chuckle this morning.

The Skies of the Seasons

AT 365 Card Challenge today it was all about the skies. I decided to fall back a little on what Jaggs is inspiring me to do. My picture of the skies in different seasons was put together from 4 individual ones. (Sorry, I don't know where I got them). So I did half part of it digi, The rest I just used different card stock to layer it all on. I did use foam dots to put the image on another piece that was the same background color as the image. (Duh, what did I just try to explain) Anyway, I also am showing the inside of the card with the quote, and as a added bonus today, You get to see a picture of my supervisor. *wink*

Not quite as dreary

It wasn't quite as dreary today, The sun did finally come out late this afternoon, but the temps are still kinda low. I think there is a chance of frost next week so over the weekend I need to work outside to prepare all my flowers for the winter. I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of their weekend.

At 365 cards today the challenge was to use a semi circle as the dominant feature on our cards. I cut both the scrolly thing and the semi circle with my Cricut, and the ribbon was from Elements, the rest from my stash. Thanks for taking your time to drop by today.

Dreary Dreary Day

It has been awfully dreary in my part of the world. Hope there is some sunshine soon. The temps did not get out of the 50's today. It is early for that low temps this early in Oct. But turned out to be a productive day for me since I was home from work. I made a batch of Pumpkin Butter, and a batch of apple butter and completed the challenge card. At 365cards we had the colors above to fashion our card from. My colors do look like the ones in example but poor photography, doesn't' help. I punched out little mini butterflies out of all the colors. I chose Kraft paper card stock for base of the card, then the peachy pink for the frame. I used Best Occasions Textured card stock for my color matches. Picked up the green to make my bow, and then used brown in the sentiment. Thanks for taking time to look.

Same, but different

That was the challenge for 365 cards today. Pam said to use the same DP but in a different color. I hope mine qualifies, I used a silver and red foil paper, by AC Specialty Paper, that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. After I had taken pictures of mine, I saw a lot of things to do different, so I will work on that part tomorrow. I made another Christmas card. Does everyone know it is just around 9 weeks till Christmas. Here's the card
In the last picture you can see that the same paper was used just in different colors. I used little gold seed beads for the center of the flower. The next one I make, I will use the green that comes in the pack, and will sand down the gloss of of it. I will also sand down around the edges of the red petals. It would look a lot more realistic.

POULTRY IN MOTION

Today at 365 cards we were to depict motion on our cards in some ways. I have a friend whose B/D is next week so decided to use this challenge for making her card. The chicken stamp is by The Cats Pajamas. Also the grass stamp comes in the same set. I used a coil out of a ball point pen to give the chicken its SPRING. I don't know why I chose the blue gingham ribbon. I found it at Big lots a couple of weeks ago for $1.00 and just thought it was pretty on this card.

Now to Monday's Card which was to use the word SO on it. This is one of the very first stamps I got. Pat from One little Spark gave it to me for Christmas, before she was One Little Spark. I have used this one over and over again. I have used it to make whole sets of note cards too. I stamped the dress in the Tuxedo Black ink, on one layer, then stamp it again on a scrap piece of patterned paper. I cut it out and piece it over the first stamp. I have made it in so many different colors and designs. It is my go to stamp when nothing else works. It is from Inkadinkado. Thanks for looking tonight.

Just a Minute

I will take just a minute to post Sat. & Sunday's 365 Cards Challenge. We are celebrating our Son's 37 Birthday. It is really tomorrow but My Mother can come today. They will be here at 5 and all I have done is the Red Velvet Cake. They still get homemade cake of their choice, but I don't have to decorate them like I did when they were little. Now on to the cards for 365. First Saturdays. Day 224 - Two Techniques
I know many of you have already done a lot of layering on your cards, but now I want you to use it along with some fussy cutting to create a foreground/background image. Make sense? The idea is to use these techniques to create some perspective. If you often do this on your cards, you will be quite at ease with this challenge, but if not, then this is the time to give it a try.

I use my Cricut Christmas Cartridge to do almost all of this. The man in the chair was googled and printed out and cut. That was the fussy cutting part of the challenge. It was really tiny little cuts around his face. The packages under the tree was from some stickers. I used the foam dots for dimension. I used the pale yellow card stock behind the cut out window, so it would look like the light inside the house. I used the gray card stock for base, so it would look dark outside the window.
Now Sundays Super Sketch. This one is pretty self explanatory. Thanks for looking. Now I am off to get ready to party!!!!

I HOPE YOU ARE READY

I sure hope you are ready and have a little time to sit and look. This is going to be another long post. I have 5 yes I said 5 365 cards post, and one for Pat at Southern Breezes. I won't talk much, just post the pictures.
Monday was to use weaving:

Tuesday was to use cross stitch:
It is hard to see the cross stitches, but where the little gold seed beads are, I done the first stitch of the cross then threaded a little bead on the second stitch. But you can not see it very well.

Wednesday was to let Denim be your inspiration:

My son Chris' Birthday is on Monday, I thought I would give him this card, since he does like denim shirts. It needed to be a lighter shade, but already had then one cut out. I faux stitched around the color and on the button placket. I put the collar and placket on with foam dots. I used little studs and my cropodile to sit them.
Thursday you were to use 5 things:
I made 6 of these. 2 of each kind. I needed a little B/D gift, so I incorporated that into the challenge.

Friday was in the shadows:

I cut the branch out using my Cricut. I used the shadow feature to cut the bottom branch. I used the Nestability to cut my frame, and used foam dots to lift up the frame and the branch.

Pat's Saturday Night challenge was to use dimension. So this will qualify for that too. Thanks Pat and Pam for all the work you do to make the challenges possible. If you see some typos and such, it is because Flossie Mae insisted on helping me tonight.

3 Days 3 Challenges

The weekend is almost over. and that makes me sad, I just need a little more weekend. There is just not enough time to do everything I want to anymore. Summer is coming to an end, and that is way to soon for me. The fall is a beautiful time of year, but I dislike winter so. Continue to pray for Karen's Mother, she is not doing well at all. My DH had a good weekend. Him and son went Trout fishing up in the mountains yesterday. He caught the largest trout, but now I really didn't see it, am just going by what he and Son said. It was catch and release, so he didn't bring it home. So I just have to trust that he wasn't telling me a "fish tale". Then after coming in from fishing, he went straight to the golf course. He had the winning score in his foursome. And he was dancing a jig (well not really, his back was hurting) for his accomplishment on that, he usually does not do that well with the ones he was playing with today, they usually get the lower scores. The great thing about all of Allan's hobbies is that it gives the time to myself to do my hobbies. Ahhh, the Good Life. it looks like this will be a long post. I have three of 365 Cards' challenges to share with you this afternoon.

Friday Day 216 was Ad Inspired

I chose to use black and white with a splash of teal
The flowers are some new ones I found really reasonably on Friday. The paper and ribbon was from some scraps.

Saturday Day 217 was to use the same color of ink as our card stock to stamp a background.

I used Burnt Sienna from Color Box Fluid Chalk. Added a sentiment and a googled pic of the pumpkin patch.

Sunday Day 218 Super Sketchy Sunday

I soon will need a baby card, so I used coordinating papers from Zoophabet by Cathy Heck to pull off this challenge.
It is hard to see but on one of the layers I used little rub ons on the edge where the papers join, that say Butterfly Kisses. Another layer, I used little buttons, and on the other, faux stitching. Ribbon was from stash, Rubber Duckie Die Cut from ?????? which was adhered using foam dots for dimension, and the sentiment was computer generated. Thanks for taking a little of your Sunday afternoon and spending it with me. I love it when you do.

The 4 Elements & A Simple Card

Good evening, I am so glad that tomorrow is Friday. This has certainly been a very long week for me. Pat had a easy peasy challenge this week. She said just make a simple card. And I did with stuff I had lying about my desk. I will send this one to Karen's mother who is facing bypass surgery in the next couple of days. Please remember her. All the colors did match, well at least they did in natural light. Just a pattern piece of DP folded into a card base. More corresponding paper with the little poppy. A ribbon, sentiment, and flower, and it was finished.

The second one is from the DT, at 365 cards. Today's challenge was to divide your card into 4 parts representing the 4 basic elements: water, fire, earth, and air. This was hard for me. So I googled the elements and found this picture. Layered it on several different colors and now I have to come up with a sentiment to put inside. Thanks for looking tonight.

Hope everyone has a terrific weekend. It is suppose to be a beautiful weekend with sun and a nip of chill in the air in my part of NC.
