HOW MANY PILGRIMS WILL FIT IN THE BUCKET

The answer..... Just enough for Nat's K-1 class. I made these for her to take to her class next week to hand out as a Thanksgiving treat. I found the template for these little cuties at http://lauriefurnell.blogspot.com/p/freebies.html

Laurie has other freebies that are also adorable. Please go visit with her. You will stay awhile if you do. The template is sized for the large regular size Hershey Bars. I scaled it down to fit a little .49 oz size bar. I think the teachers will thank me for that. ;) On the back I put a little sticker on it with Nat's name on it. In the picture I noticed I had some trimming to do, but you get the ideal of how cute they are. Well at least I think so. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. It in a beautiful fall day in the NC foothills. Thanks for visiting.

Where has the time gone?

I know it has been about 10 weeks since I posted. I have been busy, and busy with creative things, but my camera isn't cooperating like it should, so when I would want to post, I would get discouraged with the picture. So I would just walk away. But I have some exciting news I would love to share. I guess you can tell by the picture, that someone is going to have a baby. And of course you all know it isn't me. I have crocheted these little wash cloths for the little one. Don't know whether it is a boy or girl, so have to use the variegated colors till next month. I have printed so many crochet patterns off the Internet in the last week, and have hopes of doing all these little special items. I am going to be a Great-grandmother! And you are right, I'm not old enough to be a Great-grandmother. But really I am that old. My Grand-daughter Amber that got married back in the summer, shared this great news with us. She is due early summer. Anyone that really knows me, knows that I am ecstatic about this. I am like a child, I have no patience. I want it here now!!!. But then I wouldn't have time to make all my little projects would I? You can see a picture of Amber in the post before this one. As beautiful as she is, the baby has to be something special. But then that is the grandmother in me talking. *wink*

6 Days and counting

On August 27th, my beautiful granddaughter will marry. Happy tears flow even as I write this. It will be an outdoor wedding, and we are hoping for lovely weather. Amber is the daughter of my son Scott who passed away. My husband and her mother's father have the honor of giving her away. Since we have 5 sons, my husband never thought he would have an opportunity to give away a bride, so he is so very proud that she asked him. The pictures include a couple of her engagement pictures, shower pictures and some of the things we are making for the wedding. Enjoy

BONNET AND SHOWERS

Donna challenged all us girls that had her BONNET template to blow the dust off of it and make ready for the Easter Parade. I have been working on a little gift list book for my Granddaughter. She has set her wedding date. August 27th is the big day. I am making the little book, for her to keep a record of all the shower gifts she gets. I used the leftover scraps from the little book to make my bonnet card. So here are the Bonnet and SHOWER gift book pictures. Thanks for dropping by.

Monday April 13, 1987

24 years ago on a Monday morning, Allan and I wed. Why a Monday morning, you ask. Well, a dear friend, (that I worked with) in a joking way, told Allan that we shouldn't mess up a good weekend, just wait till Monday. We followed his direction and had a little private ceremony at 11:00 on a Monday. Sadly, that dear friend passed away 2 years later. Every year on our anniversary, we always remember Rick and make a toast in his memory.

Our marriage has been so very blessed with friends. Some I brought into the marriage with me, some Allan brought, and some we gained together. These long time friends, new friends, even my cyber friends, is what has held us together this past year. Like I said at the beginning. Allan and I are blessed, with each other, beautiful family and special friends.

One special friend, surprised us this afternoon with a wonderful pound cake. Thank you, Carolyn, for this wonderfully delicious cake. No, I did not eat all that by myself, I've been good, I've just had 2 pieces tonight, but then the night isn't over yet is it?

2 Post in One Month!!!!

Hard to believe, that I am posting 2x's this month. Just 3 years ago I was posting every day. Circumstances change we way we do things don't they. Spring is officially here. We have had some pretty weather, but it has turned cool and damp and rainy this weekend. My dining room table can be seen by everyone that drives by my house. The road is right beside that end of the house. Neighbors make note that I haven't changed my tablescape in awhile. I do not do elaborate tablescapes, just simple, but people do comment, when they are tired of the present ones. *wink* The basket was part of a floral arrangement that I received for my birthday back in February. The dried pink filler was also part of the same arrangement. The greenery was the top section of a old topiary that I was about to discard. The ceramic eggs were given to me by a dear friend over 25 years ago. I think of her so lovingly every time I unwrap them this time of year. The little candy baskets were cut using the Cricut. I used the Tags cartridge, and cut the popcorn box in a 4'' size. It also had the flower cut on that same cartridge. I cut various sizes of the flowers out of the scraps from where I cut the boxes. Added the layered flower a ribbon for a handle and grass and candy. This will be taken to our family Easter Dinner next month. There are 28 of these little "suckers" I can't believe it took me all day to do these. But then the Cricut, just cuts so fast. Blame it on the Cricut, I say. *wink* Thanks for visiting. HAPPY SPRING.

Babies

Two Babies to be exact. Little twin boys. A friend's niece had them this week. Oh what joy. My friend asked me to make her a card. This is what I came up with, with help from a Hallmark Card program that my son's bought me. You choose your sentiments, backgrounds and the such. I printed it out, and trimmed around them and popped them up a level, added my own bows and was finished. Below is picture of inside of card.
